Meet Our Teammates

While the IGCP is a long standing international nonprofit, and we are a small, relatively young Vermont company, it turns out one of their staff members used to live in Vermont and found us through our tweets.  It just goes to show how connected the world really is.  We are proud to be a part of their efforts in protecting  critically endangered mountain gorillas like Garuka and aiding in socioeconomic development in the surrounding areas.

The Vermont Foodbank’s challenge is to feed Vermont’s hungry, regardless of the cause of hunger, so that all have the opportunity to live a healthy, productive life.  While a lot of the Foodbank's food is grown in Vermont, it's not always free.  After connecting with the Foodbank at a local fundraiser to raise money for them, Garuka Bars launched its own #VTBizCares event, in which we donate a meal for every bar sold during the week of Thanksgiving.  In 2015, our first year, we received an overwhelming amount of support from our community and were able to donate 591 meals!

Dirty 40 Races created two unsanctioned gravel road races that challenge the human spirit and strength, the Dirty 40 and the Rasputitsa.  Both are hosted in the depths of Vermont's beautiful Northeast Kingdom.  Every cent earned goes to the Halo Foundation and helps families struggling with the costs of battling cancer in Northern Vermont.  Garuka Bars is proud to be the Official Energy Bar of the Dirty 40 race series this year, and would like to thank Dirty 40 for giving us the opportunity to help make a difference in our local community.

RunVermont is best known as the organization behind the Vermont City Marathon, but also hosts several other open events and runs community education programs for runners young and old.  Garuka Bars teams up with RunVermont each marathon for their shoe drive.  Used shoes are collected and donated to The More Foundation, where the proceeds from the resale of these shoes provides training and tools to rural farmers in Ghana.

Mpower Sports & Recreation is the online source for information and media related to the limitless amount of activities that can be adapted to all abilities.  Together with Mpower, Garuka Bars are powering an ever expanding range of activities and athletes.
